Dear Bond Members,
I want to share this lovely note I received from JFS of St. Paul which belongs to all of you since this is one of the projects our organization helped initiate in St. Paul several years ago and continues to actively support. Several of our members help by taking B’Yachad gift bags to fill, contributing financially, sharing donated new items and cosmetics, and
helping in the final gift wrapping and delivery stages. We have averaged each year over 130 gifts for clients of JFS or others referred from the congregations in St. Paul. Perhaps the slightly lower number this year was a sign of an improved economy, which may not still be in place judging from the most recent news. Keep this project in mind. We
usually don’t begin active work until the fall, but we do welcome donations of new items at any time.
I will keep you posted about any new opportunities the note mentions and welcome any new community service ideas you might have that I can share with JFS. Since we became BOND, we have worked with both Twin City Jewish Family Service agencies in supporting their community service, employment service and scholarship programs.
B’YaChad Project
Thank you to all the BOND Volunteers who helped support another highly successful B’YaChad project. Thanks to your efforts we were able to fill and gift wrap 130 gift bags for clients of Jewish Family Service of St. Paul. The recipients were all extremely grateful and people who helped with delivery reported that there were even several tearful
responses that they received (along with a hug} when they actually had direct contact with the recipient. Hope you will join us next fall in this much appreciated BOND community service project.
Hag Sameach – Happy Holiday Highlights
Celebrating 26 successful seasons, Hag Sameach insures much joy to individuals and families during the holidays including Passover. This year Hag Sameach provided gifts and ritual items to over 300 families in need. BOND members organize, sort and create gift baskets, bag gifts while shopping our gift inventory; wrap gifts in holiday paper,
deliver gifts and discover sincere appreciation from all you meet. BOND’s continued vision, leadership and dedication enhance this community service program.
